Teaching
pack: What does it mean to be rich or poor?
Staged
many times in Switzerland, the exhibition has always stimulated a great
deal of interest in schools, which led Enfants du Monde to design
a supplementary teaching pack for use in the classroom with 9-15
year olds.
Using
34 photographs taken and commented on by children from developed
and developing countries, pupils tackle the notions of wealth, poverty
and the future. These teaching materials can be used in French,
Human and Social Sciences, Media Studies and Citizenship Education.
The
pack includes:
|
|
- 34
captions written by the children. In two languages (the children's
own language and French).
- texts
with comments to help pupils develop their ideas. Fables, articles,
personal accounts, songs, etc. are used to help pupils get beyond their
first impressions and broaden their understanding of the concepts of
wealth and poverty.
