Enfants du Monde is a Swiss non-governmental organization, founded in 1968, with its headquarters in Geneva. Its objective is to help and protect children from disadvantaged countries through development projects in the educational and health sectors. With the assistance of local partners, Enfants du Monde is currently working on 15 projects spread into 7 of the world's most disadvantaged countries (Burkina Faso, Niger, Bangladesh, Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, Haiti).

In Switzerland Enfants du Monde, the organisation has developed a special project for Swiss children and youth wich aims to raise their awareness of North-South realities and issues.

Enfants du Monde adheres to the principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on the 20th November 1989.

ZEWO

For more than 20 years, the association Enfants du Monde has been certified by the ZEWO seal of quality.

This seal of quality is the only certification in Switzerland to recognise targeted, effective and profitable use of the donations collected by organizations of public utility, for which it guarantees:

  • integrity during the collection of funds
  • integrity of internal and external communication
  • transparency in activities and accounting

The ZEWO seal of quality also makes it possible for donators to receive a tax deduction, according to the corresponding cantonal arrangements in place. More information at www.zewo.ch.

In 2009, Enfants du Monde represents:

  • 12 health and education projects in 7 countries, on 4 continents
  • over 47'000 children involved in these projects
  • 3 university programs for trainers, schoolteachers and health workers
  • 3 regional coordination offices
  • 12 local partner associations
  • 2 international partner organizations
