A new president for Enfants du Monde

25.08.2009 - Enfants du Monde has a new president, named Serge Chappatte, Vice-director of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) until 2008. He wiIl take the place of Jean-François Giovannini who has been presiding the association since 2002.

Serge Chappatte, 66 years old, an economist, accomplished almost all of his career at the SDC. In 1972, he was hired as scientific collaborator. He then coordinated the SDC work in Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. He was a member of the board of directors of the SDC from 1992 until he retired in 2008, and vice-director of the SDC from 2001.

Serge Chappatte is happy to commit to the development of a non governmental association which works for values in which he believes. Actually consisting in 7 members, the comity is the directing motor of the association and administers its activities.

Its members work as volunteers and represent the social and linguistic diversity that prevails in Switzerland. Jean-François Giovannini remains a member of this comity.
