Information and sensitisation

Over the last years Enfants du Monde has endeavoured to contribute to the strengthening of the solidarity of the Swiss population, and in particular its youth, with disadvantaged countries, through a programme that includes three aspects:

Information :

• General public stands, centred on themes related to the rights of the child, during public events such as music festivals or fundraising operations.

• Creation and use of educational materials on the rights of the child.

Raising awareness :

• Organization of intercultural exchange camps which enable about 30 Swiss youth to share during one month in summer the life of local partners in South countries and to work in collaboration with young people of the host country on developing activities for the children.

• Organization of thematic holidays for children in Switzerland.

• Sensitization programmes on various themes of international cooperation, most notably the preparation of a group of young adults between 18 and 25 years old, who participated in the 2005 World Social Forum (WSF) in Porto Alegre.

Training :

• Organization and implementation of trainings for volunteers and participants on diverse themes including the organization of camps or the development of educational material.
